We're planting vegetables, herbs, and strawberries this week! Come plant or harvest lettuce and thyme to take home. Peas might be ready by then too! To learn more about our garden plot, check out this post. All tools are provided. It's quite hot out lately so please bring a water bottle!
This free event is open to queer and trans youth aged 16-29. RSVPs required! Can't make this event? No worries! We'll be at the garden again this summer and we've got more Lower Mainland June events coming your way. 💚
😷: This event is entirely outdoors and is mask-optional. If you are/have been sick in the last 10 days or have been exposed to people who are sick, we ask that you attend another event in the future. Thank you for helping us take care of each other!
♿: There are no steps or stairs leading to the park. The park has gravel paths and the paths between each garden bed are filled with wood chips. The Mycelium garden bed itself is a raised garden bed directly attached to the ground and is not wheelchair accessible. There is a separate community-wide wheelchair-accessible plot next to the Mycelium plot. There is 1 wheelchair-accessible, all-genders washroom next to the community garden (approx. 1 minute away). There is a wooden picnic bench that has one wheelchair-accessible side. If your needs to access this event are not mentioned here, please contact Jessamyn at [email protected]. Please note that we are in the process of updating our website to make accessibility info easier to share with us. Thank you for your patience.
Mycelium
Mycelium is a space for queer & trans youth 16-29 across what is colonially known as BC. We gather to center healing, pleasure, and justice in our lives as we envision and create a world liberated from HIV & Hep C stigma.
We are committed to reducing stigma related to HIV & Hep C and to building communities where we feel safe talking about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure.
Land Acknowledgement
This event is held on the unceded lands of the Musqueam people. Mycelium events take place on traditional, unceded territories of various First Nations in what is colonially referred to as ‘British Columbia.’ Our team is committed to doing our work in ways that bring us closer to Indigenous Sovereignty.
Mycelium offers online and in-person programs organized by coordinators based on the traditional, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), Qayqayt, Stz’uminus, Lheidli T'enneh, Dakehl Keyoh.
