We are excited to announce that starting this May, Nona Marchand (she/they) will be stepping into the role of Executive Director!

Nona is from the Ditidaht First Nation and will be familiar to many of you having been around YouthCO since 2018. As the Yúusnewas Program Manager she has been leading our curriculum Indigenization work over the last few years ensuring that our workshops reflect the knowledge, values & approaches of Indigenous folks on our team and in the communities we work alongside. We hope that you’ll join us in welcoming them to their new role!

A few words from Nona:

"I want to thank everyone at YouthCO for making my time here so fulfilling and I am excited for my journey to continue as the new Executive Director. My hope is to continue the amazing work of the ED’s before me through my own Indigiqueer lens.

I look forward to continuing to stand with the beautiful communities we are a part of and make their voices and needs heard."

Ivan will be sticking around over the next few months to support a smooth transition and is excited to be leaving YouthCO in such capable hands. Ivan first joined YouthCO 11 years ago as a volunteer, and has been serving as Executive Director since 2020. We are so thankful for his leadership in supporting our transition to a remote-first hybrid organization & deepening our practices of anti-oppression in the workplace. We will miss him dearly & wish him well in what’s next!
