Mycelium Core Group PG | FALL-WINTER 2023

Mycelium’s Core Group is a space for those of us interested in developing our skills in caring for our communities by learning more about HIV & Hep C and how these viruses become complicated through systems of oppression.

Join queer & trans leaders from across Prince George and Central BC as we gather online and in-person to learn, share, deepen, and put into practice our skills in responding to HIV & Hep C stigma. 

Together, over the course of 5 months, Core Group members will unpack our personal and community relationships to stigma through a series of anti-oppressive workshops on:

• queer & trans organizing
• harm reduction
• healthism 

Centering decolonial approaches to organizing, pleasure, and community care.  

These workshops are designed to support us for the end of our program where we will practice what we have learned by co-creating a Community Event in October.
Some of the topics and curiosities explored in Core Group include: 

• What can queer & trans organizing look like?
• What are our personal and collective contributions to our movements?   
• What can we learn from our histories and bring with us into our futures?  
• How can harm reduction strategies, pleasure, and care inform our choices? 
  

All Core Group members receive an honorarium of $250 for participation.

❓ Where, When, Who ❓

Core Group Members meet online or in-person weekly, including attending monthly events held in our communities.

Meetings will be facilitated by Mycelium Educator Skye (they/them) with occasional appearances from other YouthCO Educators. Learn more about Skye & Our Staff HERE

This cycle, our regular weekly meetings will be held on 
Thursday Evenings at 6-8PM

Our closing celebration will be on
Saturday, December 9th at 1-3PM

GVAN Core Group is open to queer & trans youth ages 19-29 living in was in currently referred to as Prince George and The Central BC Area

Applications for our next Core Group cycle will be available NOW and will close Monday, July 10, 2023

Step 1: RSVP below 

Step 2: Once you have RSVPed you will receive an email with a link to a short application.

Step 3: Fill out the application no later than Monday, July 10th at 11:59PM

Step 4: Wait for your response from our team, we will let you know if you have been accepted for this cycle. Mycelium's Core Group will be accepting participants on a rolling basis. The latest folks can expect to hear back from us is by Friday, July 14, 2023
