Be part of YouthCO's first ever GivingTuesday!
November 28, 2016
YouthCO was founded in 1994 to provide peer education and peer support around HIV. Today, we remain an organization leading the movement to provide values-driven, peer-led sex ed for our communities. Now, we're asking you to join us for #GivingTuesdayCanada.
Each year, we get requests from youth and the adults who care about us to provide peer support or peer education to folks outside Vancouver. Dedicated funding from First Nations Health Authority helps us connect with youth in Indigenous communities throughout BC, and we've recently introduced our workshop series Poz Youth Online with funding from the Provincial Health Services Authority, to reach more of the 500+ of us who are living with HIV in our province. Yet, we keep hearing from youth who want more YouthCO in their lives. Today, we're asking you to connect us!
Whether we're looking to bring youth to us for programs like First Directions or Camp Moomba, or bring our workshops to youth groups and classrooms from Prince Rupert to Victoria, every bit helps us towards our mission of reducing the impact of HIV stigma on youth in BC. Please consider making a donation today to help us reach more youth with our innovative, youth-led, inclusive peer education, and our stigma-busting, community-building programs.
- $5 per month brings our workshop team to Mission, Abbotsford, or the surrounding area
- $10 provides five bus tickets we can give directly to youth who want to participate in our programs
- $20 puts one camper on the bus to our 2016 winter camp program
- $25 per month covers the cost of a flight between Vancouver and Prince George
Whatever amount you choose to give, it will show your support of our approach to supporting youth living with HIV in our province, sharing real-life information about sex and substance use, and building leaders in the HIV and Hep C movement. Donating online takes just a few clicks. You can also call our office at 604-688-1441 or put a cheque in the mail.
These are just some of the ways your donation will help us support our mission of reducing HIV & Hep C stigma throughout BC. Donors have the option of being recognized in our annual report, and all donors who give $20 or more over the course of the year will receive a charitable tax receipt.
Whether or not you choose to donate, please help spread the word about what we're doing at YouthCO, through our #GivingTuesday image series, or the shareable highlights from our work last year. Thank you so much for supporting YouthCO!
