Queer Movie Night: Booksmart

Enjoy a night at the movies… at home! Join Mpowerment BC as we host a watch party over Zoom! Our first screening will be Booksmart (directed by Olivia Wilde); a coming-of-age film about academic overachievers Amy and Molly as they navigate their last year of high school! Get connected to other young queer and trans young adults throughout all of BC! We will also be hanging out before and after the movie!

Mpowerment is a space for queer and trans young people ages 16 to 29 years old to meet, have fun and support each other in making informed decisions about our sexual health!

We are committed to reducing stigma related to HIV and to building communities where we feel safe talking about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure.

This event is FREE and open to queer and trans young people ages 16-29 years old anywhere in BC. 

We will be hosting this event online, using our virtual meeting platform - Zoom. To participate, we will need access to a device connected to the internet with display, sound and mic capabilities like a laptop, desktop with headphones or a smartphone.

The Zoom app is downloadable online and we can make an account for free. You can download Zoom here (www.zoom.us/signup)

The film will be closed-captioned.

The event will be facilitated by 2 YouthCO peer facilitators, and the private meeting link will only be provided to confirmed participants.
