Join Mpowerment PG in watching an Oscar award-winning queer love story Moonlight (2016)! Mpowerment PG is excited to invite you to hang out, meet new queer and trans friends, and enjoy a queer movie! Moonlight (2016), follows the story of Chiron, a young African-American boy, finds guidance in Juan who teaches him to crave his own path. As he grows up in Miami, Juan’s advice leaves a lasting impression on him. You can look forward to snacks, company, and a great film!

Moonlight (2016), illustrates the challenges of race, culture, masculinity and sexuality on young African-American people. This movie beautifully highlights the ways in which intersectionality can show up in our lives.

***This movie contains some scenes of violence and drug use***

This event will include a discussion shortly after the movie; we will discuss certain scenes and larger themes found throughout the movie.

Mpowerment is dedicated to supporting the queer and trans community; we create safer spaces for queer and trans young people to connect and support each other in offering support in sex, love, relationships, partying and all things that bring us pleasure.

Here at YouthCO we are dedicated to reducing stigma around HIV and Hepatitis C through peer-education, sex-positivity, non-judgement, and inclusivity.
