Come on up to our loft space downtown for a chill movie night with the Mpowerment crew!

We’ll be screening the documentary “Kiki”, which is regarded as an unofficial sequel to “Paris Is Burning”.

“In New York City, LGBTQ youth-of-color gather out on the Christopher Street Pier, practicing a performance-based artform, Ballroom, which was made famous in the early 1990s by Madonna’s music video “Vogue” and the documentary “Paris Is Burning.” Twenty-five years after these cultural touchstones, a new and very different generation of LGBTQ youth have formed an artistic activist subculture, named the Kiki Scene.”

We’ll have snacks and pizza to share, so join us at 6.30PM for some pre-screening hangout and games! Movie starts @ 7:00PM!

Mpowerment is a queer-centered, trans-inclusive, and gender affirming space for young adults (19 - 29 years old) to meet, make friends, and talk about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure. We work to create safer spaces for all young people including those of us living with HIV.

This event will be taking place on the ancestral, unceded and occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
