Join us for January’s dinner & discussion night, where we will talk about what the start of a new year can mean for us.
What are the ways we mark time and moments? Why do certain markers have significance for us? What does setting yearly goals mean for some of us and why do we make them?
Come share with us in this discussion night, over some pizza and snacks!! :
This event will be taking place on the ancestral, unceded, and occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
Mpowerment is a queer-centered, trans-inclusive, and gender affirming space for young adults (19 - 29 years old) to meet, make friends, and talk about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure. We work to create safer spaces for all young people including those of us living with HIV.
Our space is located on the second floor, accessible by elevator or stairs. We have two, all gender washrooms, one of which is a large accessible washroom.
We have made a provisional booking for two ASL-English interpreters for this event through Lisz Keallen. Please email [email protected] letting us know you would like us to confirm the interpreters by Wednesday 2nd January 2018. We will follow up with you to check in about specific needs or requests you have, and also check-in if you would like to be connected with the interpreters ahead of time.
Vegetarian and meat options will be provided, along with water, soda, tea and juice.
We ask that you join us in making this event as scent-reduced as possible. This means maybe using fragrance-free products in lieu of any scented-products you may usually use.
This will be a nut-free and peanut-free event. Please refrain from bringing any food items containing nuts or peanuts into the space to ensure participants are not exposed to harmful allergens.
This event is FREE and open to youth ages 19-29 years old.
If your needs to access this event are not mentioned above, please contact Ivan @ [email protected] for more information.
