Dear YouthCO Members,

We've had a busy June at YouthCO and we're looking forward to all the summery fun July will bring. We had a great Core Training weekend with an amazing group of new YouthCO members. We're gearing up for another summer of outreach, sunscreen, condoms, and Pride! (Just make sure we're keeping anything oil-based away from condoms!)

2. Upcoming Events

YouthCO Summer Outreach Training Monday July 6th, 6pm-8pm

This is YouthCO's training for all of our summer's fun events and activities. This training is a refresher where we will review our core values, our history, as well as fun ways to engage youth and the community at these different events. We’d like to encourage everyone to join, especially those who have not yet completed the Core Training. It’s going to be a fun evening! RSVP to Desaraigh, our Member and Community Engagement Coordinator, and if you have any food restrictions or allergies please let us know. 

A Revue Show and Benefit ft. The Lion King Cast  Monday July 6, 7pm

YouthCO will be a recipient of funds from the Le Jazz Hot 2015 benefit, presented by VBY Productions & Watts of Music, along with Peninsula Productions and the Community Builders. Click the link above for details.

Mpowerment Sunset Beach BBQ Tuesday July 14, 6:30pm

Join Mpowerment for an oceanside BBQ at Sunset Beach. Everyone's invited. RSVP on our website!

Vancouver Pride Run/Walk 5k Team YouthCO Saturday July 25, 9am

The sun is out and pride is coming up-- what better way to celebrate than being active and outdoors with other rad youth?!

Everyone is welcome! We will be doing the 5k so experience isn't necessary. Come run, walk, dress up, or just show your support for the celebration of diversity in Vancouver. For more info, or to sign up for the race, click here.

#PreventHepatitis: World Hepatitis Day July 28, 10am

Join YouthCO as we participate in a day to raise awareness about liver disease and Hepatitis in BC, featuring liver wellness screening, guest speakers, and information from other local organizations!

Unmask: Pleasure and Pride July 28, 6:30pm

In this part of our Unmask series of sexual wellbeing workshops we'll be discussing pleasure! Unmask is a chance to be ourselves and have an honest conversation about sex, relationships, and our communities. Join us and meet other guys, get trustworthy facts and information, and find new resources to get what we want when it comes to our sexual health.

SFU Out on Campus is Hiring! A Positive Space Network Project Manager, Deadline July 9th!

This is a temporary part time project worker position. Applicants must be a currently registered SFU student. 

Community Based Research Centre for Gay Men's Health Job Postings:

Youth Programs Coordinator Deadline July 10th!

The Youth Programs Coordinator will support the development of the organization’s youth activities. The focus of this position includes the coordination of the Investigatyors, an education-training program that builds the capacities of young gay men in community-based research, and to support the activities of a national anti-stigma campaign for young gay men.

Knowledge Development Coordinator Deadline July 10th!

The knowledge development coordinator will support knowledge synthesis activities for a national anti-stigma campaign targeting young gay men. The main focus will be to conduct an environmental scan of anti-stigma activities in Canada, particularly those using social media and to perform a scoping review on best practices for anti-stigma initiative, with a focus on new media and technology.

YouthCO Volunteer Opportunity: Killarney Slice of Summer July 11th

Want to hang out in the sun and talk about YouthCO? We'll be running Sexual Health Trivia, Condom Demos (a great way to learn how to run/ practice running the YouthCO Demo!) and chatting with people who wander by. Let us know if you're coming by RSVP'ing on our website
