This is a great way to move our bodies and connect with other cool people when we are physical distancing at home! We will be participating in a beginner level waacking class through a virtual platform called zoom.
With roots in Westcoast underground clubs in the 70s, Waacking is a style of dance that is deeply rooted in queer and trans self-expression and resilience. With the glamour of old Hollywood and the funky rhythms of 70s disco, your arms and bodies will start dancing by itself!
This is a beginner level class. No prior dance experience is required, this is a wonderful opportunity for both folks who have never attended a dance class and folks who have previous dance experiences.
To participate in this event, please RSVP below! We will reach out to you before the event and share the private link.
The Zoom virtual space will start at 1pm
To get in touch with us, please email Bill at [email protected]!
Mpowerment is a space for queer and trans young people ages 16 to 30 years old to meet, have fun and support each other in making informed decisions about our sexual health!

This event will be taking place on the unceded traditional ancestral territories of the Stó:lō, Kwantlen, Qayqayt, Katzie, Kwikwetlem, Semiahmoo, Tsleil-Waututh, and Tsawwassen nations.
