"that's so gay" - a talk about Context

Mpowerment's weekly discussion night comes in heavy this week while we discuss what "context" is and how it's used to create "social norms".

We've heard all those words before. Yes. The "bad" ones people use because they've become "re-appropriated".

Why do we take such offense to these words? Should we re-appropriate them so that we can move on from the past? Or is it a good thing to learn from our mistakes and just forget about certain things?
