Positive Living North
It’s movie night at Mycelium! Join us on June 24 at Positive Living North for a screening of “The Miseducation of Cameron Post,” and speak about identity and queerness after the film.
Co-written by Cecilia Frugiuele and adapted from Emily Danforth’s acclaimed 2012 YA novel, “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” is the survival story of an orphaned, small-town Pennsylvanian youth forcefully sent to a Christian gay conversion therapy camp, armed with nothing other than her non-negotiable sense of identity.
Please remember to follow current health regulations and keep a safe distance from others. Masks and hand sanitizer can be provided to you on request.
Mycelium is space for queer & trans youth 16-29 across what is currently known as BC, where we gather to center healing, pleasure, and justice in our lives as we envision and create a world liberated from HIV & Hep C stigma.
We are committed to reducing stigma related to HIV & Hep C and to building communities where we feel safe talking about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure.
This event will be taking place on the unceded and occupied territory of the Lheidli T'enneh and Dakehl Keyoh peoples.
Mycelium events take place on traditional, unceded territories of various First Nations in what is now colonially referred to as ‘British Columbia’. We hold this fact in our hearts and actions throughout our work at Mycelium. Our team is committed to an ongoing process of learning what it means to do work on this land in a way that brings us closer to Indigenous Sovereignty.
Mycelium offers online and in person programs organized by coordinators based on the traditional, unceded territories of the
səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil Waututh)
S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō)
We invite you to find out what territory you will be joining this event from by visiting https://www.whose.land/en/.

This film features some serious topics that viewers may find difficult, we encourage you to care for yourself in whatever ways you need (i.e. a comfy blanket, frequent breaks, etc.) while viewing. There will also be space to debrief these topics after the film.
This event will take place at Positive Living North, 1563 2 Ave, Prince George, BC V2L 3B8. Use the back entrance to get to the main space where the event will be held.
