Dear YouthCO Members,
Happy December! We've had a very busy couple of weeks at YouthCO putting on our World AIDS Day event, which was a huge success. Our annual Member Appreciation party is coming up soon and we're having a meeting with new (and existing) YouthCO Members to map out ideas for the new year!

World AIDS Day
The event was awesome and people definitely looooved their karaoke! We're so grateful to have had so much support from our community and to have had Tiko Kerr as our guest speaker. Thank you again to all our donors and volunteers! We've saved the art the guests created together and will put it up in the office for everyone to enjoy. Pictures are available on our Facebook page.
HELP VANCOUVER PRIDE SOCIETY RECOGNIZE YOUTH
Do you know youth who should be recognized for their efforts in queer issues? Every year the Vancouver Pride Society organizes an Awards ceremony where they recognize 8 individuals who create positive change in the Greater Vancouver area in LGBTQ+ issues. One of the awards categories is: Purple for Spirit and Youth. Please spread the word to recognize deserving youth, or nominate an outstanding individual yourself.
To nominate a community member, simply email [email protected] with some basic information.
Include the nomination category in the subject of your e-mail. (Youth)
Tell us who you are nominating in the email, with a phone number or email we can reach the nominee at.

2. Upcoming Events
YouthCO's Member Appreciation Party: December 16 6pm
The Mpowerment Boys are helping put together a small social on December 16th for the members and volunteers of YouthCO. A way to say thanks before the holiday season, we'll have some snacks, complimentary wine (with ID), a door prize and FUN :)
YouthCO Member Brainstorm Evening: December 15 6pm - 7:30pm
YouthCO is a space for youth-driven ideas and leadership-- it's YOUR space, so we want to hear your ideas about what you want to do at YouthCO. Get ready to meet other fantastic new members gearing up to do awesome things and come prepared for some serious brainstorming! We can discuss any training/ workshops we want to have, events we want to put on, campaigns we want to run, and anything else we can think of.
