As the Trans Day of Remembrance approaches, we would like to invite you to join us in honoring this day with other trans folks, and our allies!
On this day we would like to commemorate trans lives, and trans futures.
There will be a portion of the night where we can share our personal stories, or listen. During this time, you are also invited to read poetry, literature, or share music by trans artists you love.
We will end the night by making a collage together based on the stories and art we shared together prior!
As always, dinner is free, along with options for tea, juice, and coffee.
Come witness the space, or participate as much as you want – there will be music, food, and coloring pages in the space for folks to engage in.
Mpowerment is a space for queer and trans young people ages 19 to 29 years old to meet, have fun and support each other in making informed decisions about our sexual health!
We are committed to reducing stigma related to HIV and to building communities where we feel safe talking about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure.
This event will be taking place on the ancestral, unceded, and occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
This event is free to attend and open to young people ages 19 to 29 years old.
Our space is located on the second floor, accessible by elevator or stairs. We have two all gender washrooms, one of which is a large accessible washroom.
We ask that you join us in making this event as scent-reduced as possible. This means maybe using fragrance-free products in lieu of any scented-products you may usually use.
A variety of dinner options will be available including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and meat options.
If your needs to access this event are not mentioned above, please contact Joelle at email@example.com or 604-688-1441 for more information.
