Queers, Questing, and Testing
Formerly known as "Gays, Games, and Testing", Mpowerment is continuing it's games and testing night under a new name. We hope you'll join us at "Queers, Questing, and Testing" --because we can never play enough video games, and frequent regular testing keeps us healthy.
What’s a better way to make friends than to beat them in a round of Smash Bros or Mario Kart 8? Come join us at Mpowerment for an evening of video games and board games.
We’ll also have nurses at YouthCO that night who will be offering HIV/STI testing! Testing at Mpowerment is free and confidential, and will be happening from 6:30 to 9. It is also a chance to speak with the nurse and learn more about our sexual health. Testing is one of many ways we can take care of ourselves and our partners! In between rounds of Smash Bros, take some time to get tested, and then go play some more!
Sign-up for testing will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. We will have two nurses join us this evening and will aim to test as many guys as we can.
Feel free to bring your own Wii U controllers or 3DS. We have some, but with possibly two systems going on, we could always do with extras. Feel free to also bring any board games you’d like to share.
Our space is located on the second floor, accessible by elevator or stairs. Our washroom is gender inclusive, but unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

Summer Lovin'
This event is located on the traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh.
To prepare us for fun times in the summer we’ll be talking about all things relating to 'cruising'. Whether at a club, beach, or bathhouse, or park, cruising is better when we know how to keep ourselves safe. At this discussion-workshop event we’ll be learning the ins and outs of safer and healthier sex and how we can enrich our cruising experience! This workshop is for all levels and experiences.

Unmask: Getting Ready to Go July

Every month, Mpowerment hosts Unmask, which is a chance to be ourselves and have an honest conversation about sex. Join us and meet other guys, get trustworthy facts and information, and find new resources to get what we want when it comes to our sexual health.
This edition of Unmask we will discuss the steps we can take to better prepare ourselves for sexy time. Thus, we will be talking about a range of topics, including: condoms, douching, vaccination, testing and PREP.

Mpowerment is Expanding!
Mpowerment is expanding! We're excited to announce that Mpowerment will be coming soon to the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas, within the Fraser Health Authority region! This means more opportunities for young gay, bisexual, and queer guys in the lower mainland to connect through Mpowerment, and educate peers about HIV and sexual health. We're excited to connect with folks in the Fraser Health Authority region already doing the much needed work of combating HIV-stigma, and creating safer spaces for queer youth!
