This event will be taking place on the unceded and occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
Culture is Healing is a monthly event for and by Indigenous youth. During these events, we come together to share cultural teachings and knowledge, and are able to provide a safer space where we can have discussions on topics such as holistic well-being, harm reduction, sexuality, sexual health, HIV, and Hep C. This is a gender affirming space, and we welcome Indigenous youth with all identities to share our space for Culture is Healing.
Join Yúusnewas for a Two-Spirit friendly sweat led by Bon Fabian! Please bring a small blanket to sit on, towel, food to share (not required), reusable water bottle, and good intentions. If any of these items are inaccessible, please contact us! There will be onsite change rooms. We look forward to seeing you at ceremony!
Please Note: We will be meeting at Yúusnewas Headquarters at 10-10:30AM for transportation. Expected end time will be between 3pm-4pm.
Lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and/or allergies.
This is a free event for all self-identified Indigenous people between the ages of 14 - 29!
Our space is located on the second floor, accessible by elevator or stairs. We have two all gender washrooms, one of which is a large accessible washroom.
Bus tickets will be available if requested.
We ask that you join us in making this event as scent-reduced as possible. This means maybe using fragrance-free products in lieu of any scented-products you may usually use. We do smudge and use medicine that can have scent. Please give us as much notice as possible if smudging or medicine use may aggravate scent sensitivities.
Childcare is available upon request. Please let us know the age(s) and number of any children you are bringing.
If you have any questions regarding the event, any dietary restrictions and/or allergies, or if there are ways we can make this event accessible for you please contact Amanda via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVP below to help us plan!
