Queers + Peers Picnic

Mpowerment Fraser is hosting Queers + Peers Picnic! This is a free event where queer and trans folk can come together and build the LGBTQAI2S+ communities of the Fraser area. There will be vegetarian and gluten-free treats as well as games and music! We will also be discussing where we look for support and how we can support our peers.

We will be meeting up in front of the water fountain in Holland Park (Holland Park, 13428 Old Yale Rd, Surrey, BC V3T 3C7) between 11:45AM – 12:00pm and then picking the perfect spot together in the park to set up our picnic.

Mpowerment is a space for queer and trans young people ages 19 to 29 years old to meet, have fun and support each other in making informed decisions about our sexual health!

We are committed to reducing stigma related to HIV and to building communities where we feel safe talking about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure.

This event will be taking place on the unceded and occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Tsleil-Waututh nations.

ACCESIBILITY

Due to the venue being an open-air environment, this will not be a scent-reduced event, and we cannot ensure that others at Holland Park won’t bring food containing nuts or peanuts. There is a possibility of exposure to airborne particles from nuts and fruits for those with airborne allergies.

This venue is semi wheelchair accessible presently.

This event is FREE and open to youth ages 19-29 years old.
