If you ever were curious about prison systems, how they came to be, and what those narratives look like in the U.S., come join us at Mpowerment as we screen the documentary 13th, by Ava DuVernay!

“In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom.”

We will follow the screening with a short discussion about the documentary.

We will have dinner, snacks, and beverages available. Join us at 6.30pm while the pizza slices are still hot! :-)

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Mpowerment is a queer-centered, trans-inclusive, and gender affirming space for young adults (19 - 29 years old) to meet, make friends, and talk about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure. We work to create safer spaces for all young people including those of us living with HIV.
