Join Mpowerment Fraser for a pre-Halloween Escape Room Night, and a pumpkin spice latte at Oldhand afterwards! We will be meeting at Countdown Escape Rooms to navigate our way out of a spooky situation, then walking (approximately 2 minutes) to Oldhand Coffee.

We will be meeting at Countdown Escape Rooms (#201 2654 Montrose Avenue) between 7 and 7:30 PM, and then walk to Oldhand at approximately 8:45 PM. Mpowerment will cover your entry free and hot drinks and snacks, so bring yourself – this event is FREE :)

Please note that the escape room portion of this event has limited space, so we request that you RVSP if you would like to attend either here, on the Facebook event, or by email to [email protected] :)

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Mpowerment is a queer-centered, trans-inclusive, and gender affirming space for young adults (19 - 29 years old) to meet, make friends, and talk about the highs and lows of sex, drugs, relationships and all the things that bring us pleasure. We work to create safer spaces for all young people including those of us living with HIV.

This event will be taking place on the shared traditional ancestral territory of the Sumas First Nation and the Matsqui First Nation; both of these First Nations are part of the Stó:lō Nation.

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

ACCESSIBILITY

Countdown Escape Rooms is on the second floor of a building, and so this may limit accessibility. Contained areas of the escape room may also limit accessibility. While food and drinks are not allowed in the escape rooms, we cannot guarantee that the space will be allergen or scent reduced.

Oldhand Coffee’s front door may limit accessibility, but the space itself is relatively open. There are washrooms in the space. Because many baked goods are produced there, the space will not be scent or allergen reduced.

Both Countdown and Oldhand are relatively accessible by public transit, but if you have transportation needs, please message the Mpowerment Fraser page or contact MP at [email protected]

This event is FREE and open to youth ages 19-29 years old.

If you have any other access needs not mentioned above or want to get in touch, please contact MP at [email protected]
