In 2012, Indigenous youth Jesse Ogen, Collen Amut, Wendy Tom, Haily Chapman, Kara Jean Johnson, Brian Rivard, and Denell Greyeyes, created this film, How To Talk About Sex. Parents aren't always the best at talking about sex. Sometimes they are even more uncomfortable than their kids they are trying to teach. Based on a true story, a mother's plan backfires, and opens up an uneasy conversation.

This film was made as part of the First Directions program, which brings together Indigenous youth to connect with our culture, deepen our response to HIV and Hep C stigma, and produce films that give voice to our experience and ideas about decolonization.

First Directions is made possible in partnership with Reel Youth, and with financial support from the First Nations Health Authority.
