Young Women's Project (WISER) Coordinator

Hello, I’m Sharon, and I’m thrilled to have my journey take me here to YouthCO as the new WISER Project Coordinator. My work background for the past 2+ years has been at a women’s shelter and supported living program in the downtown eastside. Along with that I have worked with sex trade workers in the DTES, at a women’s drop-in centre, with queer youth, and more than my fair share of work at retail stores. I have a Community Social Service Worker diploma from Douglas College, and am on a potentially life long journey to complete my degree in Women and Gender Studies.

Outside of work I make sure I have a full life. My loves include cooking dinner for my friends, dancing, exploring spaces I’ve never been before and laughing really loud. I also love community, and bringing people together. My number one love, however, is painting and creating, for which I will use pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Lastly, but definitely not last, I am in love.
