Young Gay Men's Project

YouthCO's Young Gay Men's Project is launching full steam ahead with the development of a needs assessment designed to identify the prevention needs of young gay men throughout the Vancouver area. Working with a variety of young gay men and their service providers throughout the City, we are looking at the factors that put young gay men at risk of HIV infection, such as:

  • homophobia
  • city neighbourhoods
  • isolation and community connectedness
  • role models and pop culture
  • growing up gay
  • negotiated monogomy/non-monogomy.

This needs assessment will be used to develop an interactive campaign targeting young gay men in our city. Stay tuned as our project unfolds!

To learn how you can get involved in this project, email the project coordinator, Mark Rochford, at markr@youthco.org.
