Speakers' Bureau
In our flexible, interactive workshops, YouthCO's Speakers' Bureau volunteers get youth talking about HIV and AIDS, safer sex, substance use and risk reduction. We also facilitate more complex discussions around the roles played by self-esteem, communication, gender, and sexual orientation in promoting overall sexual health.
Our workshop formats and content are flexible and may be customized to meet the needs of your group. View a description of our Sexual Health or Harm Reduction Workshops.
We believe that the more aware youth are about their health and potential risks, the better able they will be to make well-informed, wise decisions in all areas of their lives. We also believe that our peers affect the environment in which we gather their information, attitudes and behaviours as young people.
By increasing youth's ability to educate and support other youth, Speakers' Bureau volunteers work to create relevant community expertise, resources and role models. As a peer-driven organization, we provide meaningful and accessible HIV/AIDS education developed and presented by young people for young people.
