YouthCO's renowned Education Programs are fun, interactive, dynamic and peer-driven. We understand that one simple message, style or format is not adequate in reaching the diverse landscape of youth affected by HIV, AIDS and Hepatitis C. Our Sexual Health and Harm Reduction Programs offer a wide variety of opportunities, workshops, presentations and trainings to youth communities throughout British Columbia. Our workshop formats and content are flexible and may be customized to meet the needs of your group.

Sexual Health Programs

Our Sexual Health Programs increase the skills of young people around HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. This gives them the tools and knowledge to make safer sexual choices. These programs look at how things like gender and sexual orientation affect our decisions around sexual activities.

We provide education and awareness workshops to youth and service providers in:

  • public and private schools
  • ESL language schools
  • youth groups

Harm Reduction Programs

Our Harm Reduction Programs focus on increasing youth's knowledge and skills around HIV and Hepatitis C, and reducing the risks associated with using drugs.  Our techniques incorporate a spectrum of strategies from safer use, to managed use, to abstinence. These programs look at how factors such as poverty, access to education and culture play a role in our decisions around substance use.

Our Harm Reduction Programs deal directly with street-involved youth in Vancouver and incarcerated youth throughout BC through education, awareness and outreach.

We provide harm reduction workshops and games to youth and service providers in:

  • detention centres
  • treatment centres
  • alternative schools and programs
  • street-involved youth in drop-in centres
